JFK spotting 4/26/2008

First time at the parks, cargo area, and I'm hooked! Thanks to Tom for your hints, great conversation, and exposing me to some little secrets to get even better pictures out there! Airline photography is not a crime!

Roman nice to meet you, your wife and the pup yesterday. Its to bad the weather wasn't a bit nicer for you but such is life when it comes to this hobby sometimes. Hopefully the next time you go out you'll have some of the brilliant late afternoon early evening summer light that comes this time of year.

    Hi Roman,

Looks like I missed you folks by seconds, literally. I pulled up and Tommy said you had JUST left.

Glad you had a good time out there. Hope to run into you soon!

Got it! You pulled up in the pickup truck as we let the lot. Next time, I'm sure! How do you embed shots into the posts? I have some that I want to share from yesterday.

Host your photos on webspace somewhere (photobucket.com or something similar). Then click on the "Img" button just above the typing box here and you put the .jpg link of your photo in between the two sets of brackets.

It will appear like www.nycaviation.com/PhilsAwesome.jpg, but with brackets instead of the "<" and ">".

    Re: JFK spotting 4/26/2008

I have no car so my spotting is very, very limited. I spot from some of the JFK terminals but most won't let me in without a ticket since 9-11. I used to take cabs out to spotting places but it was very costly and I often got stranded in out-of-the-way places and had to hike back into the terminal area to get a cab. Often, runways were changed so I had no way to get to the new spotting area. In the 80's and 90's it was different. I could picnic by the runways, spending the whole day spotting. Best of all was the view from the Pan Am Roof (Delta). The runway in use didn't matter so I could hang-out all day and nobody bothered me. Downstairs were amenities and food shops, etc. The good old days.
