Planes hit turtles at JFK now and then.

I've read notes for apporaches into small midwest airports that tell pilot to watch out for farm equipment on the runway.

I've heard of an Air France A330-200 that landed somewhere in Africa and also hit a cow. There was also a general aviation aircraft which hit a giraffe on take off from an airport in Africa. Sort of like in Jurassic Park 3 when the Beech hits the T-rex on take off!

About 6 years ago I was flying TWA from JFK to SJU on a 757-200 and I remember having to hold short on the taxiway on are way out to 4L because there was a large family of snapping turtles crossing the runway. They called for animal control but apparently the snapping turtles were to large to handle and we had to wait 30 minutes while they crossed the taxiway. There were a lot of laughs when the captain told us what was going on.

i bet that nobody believed the pax when they told others of the reason for thier flight's delay.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
