Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.

We had a pretty severe thunderstorm this morning here in Long Beach. Rain fall similar to a Florida summer afternoon thunderboomer. It was wild. Lightning hit the wood pillar on the dock of our neighbors house and knocked off the wooden pelican that was mounted on it. It was a wild weather morning. Glad I am off this week.

One of our AC was hit by lightning on its approach to JFK and had to be taken OOS. We only had one other diversion and that was a flight to BDL. 8)

    >We had a pretty severe thunderstorm this morning here in Long Beach. Rain fall similar to a Florida summer afternoon thunderboomer. It was wild. <

At 3:40AM I had just woken up and went to the bathroom. No sooner had I climbed back into bed
and closed my eyes there was this bright flash then seconds later a TREMENDOUS clap of thunder
that sounded like a bomb went off. It shook the house and set off car alarms. Then me and my
wife counted down how long before our daughter comes running into bed with us!! Uh about 10
    seconds!!! LOL!!
At 1PM in Manhattan the sky turned black but by 4:30 when I left it was beautiful!! In fact a PD
Agusta was circling around MSG and then up to Times Square pretty low!!!
Back on LI a crescent moon and here come the 22s.
Now Sunday night another big storm!!
