Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Looks like a Virgin 744. Departing MCO? That is the guess I am going with at least.

    It has only 2 engines. I think it's a Virgin America A320.

Seemed to do well with the strike. What was that part of the light that stayed behind the plane though?

That looks more like a 767 or 757. I diffenatly dont think its an A320 if you can see where the landing lights were located if you look carefully..

I keep looking at the video over and over and I can see clearly that its most likely a 767. Just seconds after the lightning strike as the camera man zooms to the plane, you can see the landing lights near the slats and it diffently describes that it might be a 767, as the A300, A310 or A320 has the lights under the wings. It almost looks like it might be Qantas.. The tail kind of looks red

The strobe single-blinks, so it's not an Airbus (which double flashes). I thought it was a Fedex DC-10

Not sure where the video was filmed but it looks like a Qantas 767-300 to me.

Phil that trailing light was most likely the static discharge from the aircraft. Those wicks on the wings are there for a reason, and this was it.

Closer look, I'd say FedEx DC-10.
