Spent a little time spotting this afternoon with my new friend from Europe - Klaus from Munich, Germany. It didn't look great this morning, but it turned out to be a pretty nice afternoon. Klaus wanted to try some departure shots, so we started at Howard Beach a little before 2 pm. It turned out to be fairly slow going, this being about the only departure that didn't turn way early:
We finally gave up and headed to Firestone, where the action was hot and heavy.
It was nice to catch one of these before they are all gone, and a first time sight for Klaus.
Jefferson Airplane
Caught this one departing a couple of weeks ago at HoBe, I think it's the first UA 757 with winglets:
After departing 31L, Air China passed over us at Firestone:
Here's Klaus, excited by his capture of an American Eagle RJ - not something you see every day in Munich.
The highlight of the afternoon - first time I've seen her:
Turned out to be a good afternoon - weather ended up decent, we got some interesting captures, got to make a new friend, and someone to show me around if I ever get to Munich to spot.
