On my second trip to Paris for business, I decided to stop in London the weekend before to see a new city. I stayed at the Heathrow Airport Marriott, but I didn't expect the view I'd get of everything just by walking around the airport perimeter. Naturally, I couldn't help myself but go out spotting, especially with the great light on that Sunday morning before I left. Below are a few of my favorite shots, but all of them can be found at the photobucket album link I'll place at the end.
I shot most of these from right next to the airport perimeter fence. There were a dozen or so other spotters, but mostly reg spotters without cameras. I wasn't at all bothered by any authorities, and after conversing with other spotters, I found that the authorities are a lot more relaxed about the spotting activity in general, which was a welcome treat. There was a lot of variety in the traffic that flew in, but I would also say that a majority of the planes were BA A319's & 320's. If you think you see a lot of jetBlue at JFK, it's nothing compared to BA at LHR! Enjoy the shots!
