EWR Summer Updates (Qatar, Jet, Tap)

This summer EWR will see the beginning of Qatar, Jet, and TAP will upgrade their A330-200 flight to an A340-300.


(Effective June 26th):

DOH-GVA-EWR A330-200

ETD DOH 8:40am

EWR-GVA-DOH

ETA DOH 8:15pm

Effective August 5th (Subject to government approval):

This is all great news -- I can't wait to shoot these guys when I get back to NYC!!

I'm glad that TAP will be bringin' in the A340s...it's time for revenge since there was such crappy wx in GRU when we (Gordon & I) saw it. In addition, I cant wait to see the new carriers, Qatar and Jet, at EWR. It's a shame though that Jet arrives so early in the day, as noon-ish is kind of a tough time a day for shooting at Newark.

Nonetheless, some fantastic things for us all to look forward to! :D

I'M really really really happy about Qatar.
Finally a chance to see the NC A330s and Blue Asian Games
To bad my favorite, the orange, is -300. I hope they sub it once, or if the route proves to be popular, replace the -200 w/ -300.

btw, anyone know how long they are going to keep the Asian Games colors?

And about the TAP A340-300, I actually read about the upgrade on Anet but I haven't seen any A340-300s in the schedule yet but from past knowledge the flight has generally been upgraded to the A340-300 in past summers.

Sorry no pics from me. But i can't believe the amount of advertising Qatar is doing. Billboards up and down the turnpike, tv ads, radio ads, signs all over and I even saw an Academy bus completly painted in Qatar colors with an ad on the side.

Jet's 777-300 will be the first 300 series 777 scheduled into EWR. I did see an AF 777-300 once in EWR, a diversion from JFK. I can't remember any other T7 300's.

I finally got a good shot of Qatar: I took some touchdown shots too but they didnt come out to good.
