Spotting in YYC, Sept 2006
Our family visited Canadian Rockies at the end of this summer. We flew LGA-MSP-YYC outbound, on NW A-320. On the way back, about 1 hour before the departure, the NW A-320 was hit by a ramp vehicle which punctured a hole on the aircraft. The flight was cancelled and NW put us on the next day's AC YYC-JFK flight. I have seen the lone AC A-319 landing in JFK before, but never realized it came all the way from YYC.
In any case, I did some spotting around YYC. The areas surrounding the airport provide many good spots. Most of the aircrafts were AC narrow body Airbus, RJ and DH-8, as well as WestJet 737. But I did see Atlas Air 747-400F as well as MyTravel A-330. I also saw 2 RCAF CF-18 landing on the main runway, but didn't have enough warning time to pull out my camera.
Anycase, here are the photos:

Why was part of the 'J' green?

About 1 week after I returned, I found out Canjet suspended all scheduled service.

So here you have it, enjoy.

Nice pics!
What you see at YYC really depends on what day it is. I spotted there one day in July, and while I didn't see MyTravel, I did see Thomas Cook, Martinair, and Zoom.
AC does indeed fly YYC-JFK (started earlier this year) but also YVR-JFK.
