    HPN-DXR summary (Photos)

    Greetings,
Flew to DXR today to get some shots of the final to runway 35 at Danbury, CT (DXR). A while back I flew this amazing approach between two FootHills or small mountains that rise on both side of the approach to runway 35 at DXR. I was happy to get back there again to get some pix this time. Unfortunatly I forgot to take into account the time of day and the shadow the mountain would cast on itself.
I usually don't shoot much when I fly but I have started doing it more often now.

Heres a few shots from today.

    Short final to Runway 8

Heres what the topographical data of the approach looks like from the USGS.

Noted at HPN were the following:
    737-400 N37NY
It has been repainted since the last time I saw it.

    737-700 P4-RUS
This Aruban registered 737-700 isn't listed anywhere on the internet yet.

    Very nice shots Senga.

I'm somewhat fimilar with DXR as my school plays Wooster School which is located right under the approach to the runway. If you look in the fourth and fith pictures you can see the school.

Hi shots, Senga! I used to be based out of DXR for a while, and it is an interesting airport as captured by your pictures.

Where do you fly out of? I only ask because I recognize the aircraft you were flying as possibly a Panorama Flight School aircraft (Dual KX 155-As, KLN-94, KMD 550 MFD)? I recently solo'd yesterday out of HPN in N5286C, which was a pretty awesome thrill.

Fly safe and will listen for you on the frequency,

    Thanks guys,

I think I do see the school. I always like to see places I have been from above.

Ron, Yes can you belive it? I actually managed to take a picture when the sun was visible! I still can belive it.

    Jason,
I am based out of HPN also. And yes, it is a PFS aircraft :) I rent from them. Good eyes good eyes!
I was going to fly yesterday and book N5286C but I see why I couldn't! LOL Was that for first solo?

I added 2 more pix to the set

Most likely, Senga. I booked the plane from 8am-12pm and flew with Richard from 8-10am, and went solo afterwards.

    See you around the airport.

I'm sure we will be at the FBO at the same time sone of these days.

Senga I slept most of the day today and now I'm catching up. Just wait for shots from Kingman - oh wait, do you want heart attack? If not viewer discretion is advised (TWA L1011s) :)
