ADW trip Recap for 27th, 28th

Greetings, heres a few shots from ADW on the 27th and 28th.

The wetaher on friday was just horrible in the DC area. On Saturday it cleared just as I was leaving to head back up north again.
Not the best shots but they get the job done.

The VC-135 (top)was a nice catch. I botched this one back in 1996 when I first started shooting. It was one of the very first aircraft I photographed when I started out. I was VERY happy to get a nice solid shot of it now afetr all these years.

I had been putting off the VC-9 (bottom)for several months but finally photographed it. It has been (WTF) for a while now.
Both aircraft are layed out in VIP configuration.

Very nice shots Senga. How far is ADW from IAD? Everytime I see your shots from there I want to take a day trip.

    Thanks lijk604,
ADW and IAD are on opposite sides of Washington, DC. If you were in downtown DC it would take about 15 mins to get to ADW and would take about 27 mins to get to without traffic. To go to one airport to the other you could either go though the city or go around it. It would take about 45 mins to 1 hour to get from IAD to ADW.

USAF don't have enough VIP's that actually have windows???

What is the story behind the "Trout"?

    Taken from FAS.org
    VC-135, C-135
"C-135 aircraft transport senior military leaders such as the Commander-in-Chief, US Pacific Command; Commander, Pacific Air Forces; and other high-ranking dignitaries. The C-135C Speckled Trout communications aircraft, operated by the Edwards-based 412th Flight Test Squadron, is a modified C-135 that serves as a test bed for emerging technologies."

More on specled trout in that link.
