Six passengers suffered minor injuries as they evacuated a United Airlines passenger plane at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, authorities said.

United flight 949, a Boeing 767, landed at the airport after a transatlantic flight from London. “[It] experienced an issue with its fully deployed landing gear after safely landing,” said Michael Trevino, a spokesman for the airline.

Elizabeth Isham Cory, a spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), said there was a minor fire in the left wheel upon landing. “[The] FAA is investigating,” she said.

Trevino said the emergency slides of the aircraft were deployed after the aircraft stopped. “All passengers and crew have been safely evacuated from the aircraft and escorted to the terminal,” he said.

But when asked further, Trevino said six passengers had sought medical attention. They suffered minor injuries during the evacuation.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
