Video: How to Start a Boeing 737 Classic

Watching two men walk through the 20 minute process of starting an airliner might be yawn-inducing to many, but to us it may be the height of plane geekery. These guys from the Baltic Aviation Academy in Lithuania made an extraordinarily detailed in-cockpit video showing the rigamarole of firing up a Boeing 737-500. It’s also a nice reminder of how many dials, switches and buttons were found on airliner flight decks before many were replaced with computers and LCD displays.

Sadly, it may only be a matter of time until a politician sees this and demands that YouTube pull it, the FBI seize it, etc. Enjoy while it lasts.
