• Last July, an IL-78 owned by Tactical Air Defenses diverted to Marquette County, Michigan after being denied entry to Canada. Immigration officials detained the Ukrainian crew, and the tanker-modified aircraft has sat on the ground at the airfield since, with no company coming to claim it. [Autopia]

• Boeing has delivered the last of the original 747 series after shipping out a 747-400F to Kuwaiti cargo start-up LoadAir. Boeing 747s have been in operation for just over 40 years, and the world eagerly awaits the coming of the 747-8, which is expected to extend the life of the Queen of the Skies for decades to come. • Similarly, December 26th has been announced to be the day that Northwest will be retiring their final 747-200F from service. [SeattlePI]

• The Department of Transportation has decided to issue the Passenger Bill of Rights for airlines, with requirements such as domestic flights not being allowed to sit on the ramp for more than 3 hours and food required after 2 hours. Feel free to read the full PDF.
