PSA originally ordered two L-1011s, plus delivery positions on three more, for use on its California routes and possible charter work. The second example, N10114, is seen parked on April 25, 1975, after the airline discontinued TriStar service March 31.
Virgin America says it will begin flying between New York's JFK International Airport to Palm Springs, Calif. on December 15th. The flight will stop in San Francisco in both directions.
