    PHL 7/15/13- North Central DC-9

On Monday I ventured out to catch what I thought was the Virgin America 'Giants' plane, turns out I've been tracking the wrong damn registration for months lol! As a consolation prize, the spotting gods threw out N770NC for me.

First flown in '78, she has been with North Central, Republic, Northwest, and is spending her twilight years at DL. What a beauty!

I stuck around for some more action

    Air 'Tan'

    'Only Blue'

Then this damn heat wave began and I went back home

    Thanks for looking!

i note every DC9 arrival and departure these days ,they are treading the path of the 727 ,quickly vanishing into history, i have logged a grand total of 85 hours in the DC9 ,both the -15 series, and the 30, the -15 was a hoot to fly boasting the lightest ailerons of any transport that i have had the pleasure to fly,the 30 ,especially loaded felt a mite underpowered, but then again after the flying the 727 i am hopelessly biased toward Boeing jets.
The beehive hummm of the JT9D and GE CF680C2,the thunder of the JT8D-17,the rumble of the PW1830 and the high ,thin whine of the PW 545A are all music to my ears!
