Well I finally made it out to the biggest airport in Michigan! The day got off to a promising start with lots of sun, but got cloudy at the end and therefore the photo quality was reduced greatly. I still had a great time! To spare you the boredom, I'll leave out most of the regional traffic and get right to the good stuff!

i live 35 miles northwest of DTW in Commerce , from 2000-2008 i was DTW based for Champion (except for '03 when I was blessed to be JFK based)flying the 727-200ADV, all over the US , Canada,Mexico, Caribbean, and Latin America,great people, great jet,great FUN !!!

Wow that is really cool! This was my first time back to DTW since the merger with NW, and to be honest I was a bit disappointed. Back in Northwest's hay day there many more international flights and heavy jets, as well as carriers such as KLM and British Airways. I would say about half of the aircraft I saw today were Pinnacle CRJs. But, what can I say, it was a whole heck of a lot better than GRR! Traffic wise, that is...Originally Posted by 727C47

Yes, a lot of Delta and Pinnacle. Also plenty of Spirit, the two internationals come about an hour apart in the late afternoon.
you know I actually like it better now, i don't miss the sea of Red tails that Metro used to be,the jets look great in the Delta livery(especially the 744,but even the 9)and the 767s, and 777s are a nice addition to the mix.

Is there ever a surprise Mig or L-1011 Royal Airforce? Otherwise, ouch, I would have to shoot myself... EWR, LGA and JFK can get boring at times too but at least you know the good stuff is coming.
