KIAH 10-26-12: Featuring one "Dreamy" Special Guest

After a few months of College life, I figured I was due some spotting!

I am in Houston for the big airshow this weekend, but decided to hit up KIAH for some night time action, primarily the Qatar 777LR which I botched badly last December. What started as a 777 and then the UAL narrow-body departure rush was suddenly turned around by the sudden appearance of United first 787-8, recently arrived from Amsterdam. Sadly, it was damn windy, but what a treat to have my first operational Dreamliner be United's first as well, and at night nonetheless.

    Hope you all enjoy!

The only thing that survived on the taxing plane from the last shot is the beacon lol. Nice clean shots.

Excellent Nick!! Very nice crisp shots. BTW, I think I'm putting IAH on my list of places to go spotting.

Dreamliner, in a dreamy place... appropriate for it.
If I may ask what was your camera settings. I have been trying night shots in Miami with not much luck.
And you should post some more shots!

    Kris,

The exposure lengths varied here from around 2-6 seconds, F7.1-9, ISO 400-500, Single-Shot AF, IS (or VR) off, auto-WB, and a remote shutter did the trick.

Sadly the wind made them softer than I'd have liked...
