    JFK 07/07/2012 DreamLifter

Just came out for DreamLifter and then of course got a few others :-) Nice hanging with Jason and Mark

From JFK Expressway service road :-)

    A little Eclipse 500 Gnat :P

Star of the day (for me)

Just testing out Mark's beast 500mm f/4 ... ignore the heat haze. This sucker is SUPERBLY SHARP!!! My 200-400mm would have suffered a bit.

Light totally blew chunks! Heat was also unbearable..

    Lame.

What's up with the Transaero, BTW? Just a sub, or are they back to the 744?

    Pretty boring, ain't it?

I think it was a mistake... the MIA guy landed at JFK for good old time's sake .. lol. Likely a sub but then again, they have been bringing the 773 lately.

Another 500mm f/4 test shot. This one is around 1100 yards away. The Silver Bullet about was about 1200 yards. That is a bit over one click if you're counting.

and a 100% crop... again, imagine how much heat is being compressed across tons of hot tarmac :-)

Great shots, guys. That Cathay 744F is a real beauty.

Yanks, glad you finally caught the Dreamlifter!

Been hunting down that one for a whole. Too bad I didn't get a decent arrival shot, or any departure shot. Next time, I guess.
Heck, maybe we will even see YOU out there one day!

Not to repeat some of the images already posted here are a few of the Dreamlifter. I was able to catch the Dreamlifter departing off RWY 4L (given the fact that I was positioned for 31L KE departure). Glad that the queue for 4L was nice and long which gave me extra time to catch it.

Manny ....... that first shot of the Transaero is awesome!

Very nice mark... I spent a week and two days in Seattle WA and NEVER saw a single DreamLifter... not one! Last night would have been nice to catch her departure but alas, they were late as always. I want a departing shot so bad. I

now have her arriving, on the ground and just need that departure shot. Your butt shot is sweet ... that is THE SHOT not YOUR butt ... ROTFL!

Thanks for teasing me with the 500mm. I had rented the older VR-I model in the past but this one is just a tiny bit better. The VRII works well. My shots were hand-held!!

Your welcome sir Manny. I hope to do some night shots may be from the bridge of the tower with the 500mm to see how that works out. Anywho ...... Off to Orlando for a work related trip. Not sure if I will be able to get any spotting in from MCO other than some terminal shots. Congrats Jason for getting the Dreamlifter.

Great photos guys. Love the transaero. Every time I think I've seen it all, be it personally or on this site, one of you guys posts something I've never even heard of. This site's become so much fun to follow.

And I am droolling over those 500mm shots.

TJ.....the 500mm will empty your wallet in a heartbeat. I saved up for it over the course of a few years till I finally decided to pull the trigger. It is definitely a beast of a lens but worth it. Stay away from Manny he will make you spend your life savings. LoL.
