First flight on 787. Jetblue 787

    Its time to go back.

So Im using the Jetblue app to check in and I got the clan checked in for the flight now.

    1. But now that we are 'checked in' we still need to arrive to the airport and check 1 piece of luggage. I assume a clearly marked sign would guide the way?I may not be able to print boarding passes tonight so I may need to print boarding passes and check 1 bag. is that usually a long line?

But since its an international flight how early should we get to T5 for an 1129 departure? I was thinking 930.

    THoughts? Thanks!
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...

I just did this Saturday (yesterday), Mario, flying down to Charlotte. Checked in on my iPhone Friday night. When I got to T5, I went to one of the kiosks, punched in my info, and it printed a boarding pass. They had a line of kiosks, so there was no waiting for that. Right next to the kiosks was the bag drop area - there was a big orange sign marked "BAG DROP", and it is separate from the "full service" line for those needing to purchase tickets, etc. There was a decent line, but it moved pretty well, I think it took about 15-20 minutes. They tag your bag, you put it on the belt, then security is a short walk from there. I think it took about 10 minutes to get through security, including wait time, and the screening process. My flight was scheduled for an 8am departure, I got to the terminal at 6:15, and I was at the gate before 7am.

I don't know what's involved with flying internationally these days, but I would imagine 2 hours should be plenty of time.

And may I add - the flight was delayed (the inbound leg was late getting in) and the app was updated at the same time as the board at the gate. The gate agent was also very good at keeping us up to date on the delay (about 40 minutes).

It's a beautiful city, the people are all friendly, and they have an awesome spotting park at the airport! I'm editing photos now...

So far, the JetBlue experience sucks. Sitting in a security line that has barely moved in the last 15 minutes. Watching TSA snd AirServ employees laugh like they are at a bar. Not realizing it's a business. Process and move on.

My T5 TSA experiences have been hit or miss. It's usually fine, but when it's bad, it's really bad. (But still not as bad as many other terminals.)
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

BTW, when I said the jet blue Experience sucked, it sucks because of the TSA and security. They funneled all the security of Airserv which was slow as molasses. So you spend forever in line and dont get to really enjoy the Tmerinal experience. Even though we got there 2.5 hours ahead of flight.

So TSA and Airserv, you both get a huge Eff off!
