The video is amazing. Was just on the phone with Dave Budd who was there and just had left before it happened. Insane!

And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...

If not the end, the circuits will be VERY FAR from the crowds for sure... it may affect Airshows as well...

there's been talk of shutting down reno for years and i hope this isn't the end. from what i remember the showline and the stands are separated by a lot of room. same for airshows. glad i was there and got to experience the real reno air races before this happened.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

Like it or not, that's the question probably 90% of the people who see the story will ask. Not everyone's a total aviation buff like us who knows these things.

As I said on facebook, most people in this world take aviation for granted, even complaining about it when they do fly. Then you get people who go out to CELEBRATE aviation, and tragically get killed or injured. So sad. :(

There are a lot of people within the aviation community asking that same question today. The only way to continue having air shows and races is to make sure they are as safe as can be, both for participants and spectators. If safety isn't your primary concern, you should probably be doing something else.

And to be fair it wasnt only Cooper. I was clicking on Fox and MSNBC and their hosts were asking the aviation "experts" the same "Are air shows safe" questions. Our own Hometown paper
the NY Daily News on their web edition has "MASSACRE" in the headline of the air show story.
