    KLAS 1/17/11

Went with Brandon down to LAS for the day...got some decent stuff. You'd think that with, how many dozens of WN flights per day?, we'd get more than 3 specials. Oh well.
Also had the pleasure of meeting up with a few of the locals. A good time was had by all.

Good stuff, especially the color on the United A320.

Hey, 3 isn't bad. BWI gets 75% the number of LAS WN flights, and I've gone entire days without seeing a single special. Nice pics...especially the Korean. I need to get out there sometime!

Love the shot of Arizona One. The Korean is great also.

I am still waiting to spot my first special. I'm really hoping that when I fly back to Nashville in April through BWI I will get a chance to see one. If not then, maybe when I'm connecting to Reno through Phoenix in June.

I'm thinking that when i go to Reno in June (thurs-sun trip), I may hop on a southwest flight (or something cheap) early in the morning on friday to LAS to do some spotting and then head back friday night since the main reason for my trip isn't until Saturday night.

Seahawk, did you by any chance see any movement on the L-1011 that is sitting in the background of the first photo? It would be great to have a chance to see one of those in person one of these days.

    Great catch on Virgin !

Im not sure about HDR, great catch great quality but this is not HDR, I think you can't do HDRs with moving objects... of course you can process different exposure levels from RAW file but this is not HDR... anyway looks good to me :) and I miss Vegas so much..... Im thinking to move to Vegas, will see :)

Well technically it is is a fake HDR, I used the HDR setting in photoshop to achieve it.

Steve I wish the thing had moved. This is the second time in the last 2 months I have gotten it. I got her up in ANC back in DEC and not moving then either. I want to here those engines roar.

Aside from the FedEx 727s, I'm still waitign to see my first threeholer in person. Aside from being a kid and seeing DC10's in the approach/holding pattern for JFK from Islip, I've never seen one "up close". Hopefully when I go down to do some spotting at JFK in two weeks. Fingers crossed!
