    JFK 12/23/2010

Went out on this drab day to try and finally catch the CargoItalia MD-11(F) but I did not count on the one hour delay on Rockaway Blvd from JFK Cargo Areas to the Panera turnoff :-( It was sooooo bad, I totally ditched the better spot and decided to try and get some when she landed. Did not have much time and I ended up getting to a good spot too late and she was already taxiing. The shot I got was from my car and handheld it was OOF and motion blurred. The schedule on this White Pelican is so erratic and usually wed/thursday when I am at work that it seems like I will never catch her in flight on good weather LOL.

It was then supposed to depart for Milan (as opposed to the usual Chicago route) before the sun went down. So I moved over to HoBe to wait for her... it was not to be. I did catch the 757 and 767 OneWorld AAs

At 5:00pm I gave up and went back to the Lufthansa Cargo area and she was still sitting there!! Here is a shot of the tail when she was taxiing to the ramp taken from one the cargo service roads around the Taxi Cab queue.

megatop, I would sleep at the airport under a 747 if I could. At airshows, I have been known to kiss the wheels on a C-5 Galaxy LOL... I love it... I grew up next to an Air Force base in my small town in Cuba next to MiGs all day long. That base was once of the ones that held nukes during the Cuban missile crisis. Anyway, ever since then I wanted to be a pilot. Then we came to this country, things changed and I thought I was going to be a billionaire selling commercial real estate in NYC hahaha what a joke. I wanted to be Gordon Gecko. That was the 80s for you. I never pursued my love of flying and now, well, I guess too late to be a 747 pilot. But I HAVE TO HAVE TO at least get a single engine prop pilot's license before I die.

Thanks for the kind words sir. Sorry it took me soo long to respond!
