XLF is not a new visitor to JFK but its night time arr/dep makes it hard to get. I have put this one off for ages however I got the nerve to go shoot it. I am glad to get it out of the way.

Nice catch, Senga! I'd say this was an accomplished catch. XL comes in twice a week for the summer season at a late hour, hard to get. :)

Yea its not much to look at but with so much of the XL brand gone I felt I needed to get it just in case something happens.
I do have the 737, 767 and the 747-300 for XL so this does compliment the set well.

I got her at LAS where she lands right before sunset. I was all set to shoot her inagural arrival but decided sitting next to Sue Lowden at dinner at the Venetian was a little more important. Dave Budd went home and Randall was the only guy to hang in there and was rewarded. The C/S is ok I guess, simple and just glad to see some heavies in sin city.

Have to edit it yet, so backlogged and when I am ready to edit a bunch I end up at another airport shooting. Will try to find those NEFs tomorrow. Randall had much better conditions, it was unseasonably cold that day and it was late. The shot he has of the wheels smoking is better than that shot IMO.

Don't let Phil hear that he is a huge fan of Randall and for good reason. His shot is pretty epic, that light is insane! I was just happy to get a decent shot of it under terrible conditions. Heat haze is impossible now.
