Okay, so we have these two new aircraft entering the world of commercial aviation: Boeing 787 and the Airbus A380. If you had a choice to fly on either one, which one would you choose?

the 787 is something new, an all-composite transport category airplane, technology that just hasn't been used on such a large scale... EVER. the A380, just an all-metal bohemoth that couldn't even be put together on schedule using existing construction meathods.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Why wouldnt you fly on something that is all new baseis, all new design, all new tech, and something so sweet looking? While the A380 was sloppily put togeather, couldnt be kept on time with old tech, and had to get fed grants to keep the maufacturer in business. Oh and looks like it was hurled up.
I would rather fly in a Piper Cub than an A380! Boy is this going to be a one sided poll!
If you wanted to make this good, it should read "what would you want to fly in
A 707
B 747-SP
C L-1011
D 787
E A-350
F A-400M
A-380 probably would not get any hits so that would not even be Included!
I would go with the 707!
***IN THIS POLL, I think the 787 will take over 90% by the time it is over***
The three most common expressions in aviation are, "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" and "Oh Crap".
I made this pole since the A380 and 787 are both new planes for the industry and they were being made simultaneously (roughly). I had a feeling that the 787 would take the lead, but life can be full of surprises, this was just not one of them.

What i'm shocked about is how the A380 has 3 votes.Originally Posted by JetBlueAirwaysFan

Been lucky to once fly on a 707 and twice on a DC-8. Hope to fly in an MD-11 while it is still in passenger service. Miss not having had an opportunity to fly in a 747-SP.
Cessna 6MA Kennedy tower, Rwy 31L, CLEAERD TO LAND!
787 and Tu-144.
Spotters have been Homeland Security before HS was a glimmer in the president's eye.
I'd take anything on that list...
I'd choose L-1011 or DC-8 first...gotta prioritize on what will be least likely to be around...
I want to fly both of them, in no particular order, but chances are I'll fly an A380 first.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9
787, but I would be much more happy if I can fly on this gem!

The poll closes in two days. I will agree that the most shocking outcome on this is that 6 people prefer the A380. At least it was interesting. Thank you for voting.

Interesting that I suspect most writers are in the US and they go for a plane built in the US. Bit unfair criticising the A380 delays when the B787 is also hugely late. Also interesting that no US airlines have ordered the A380.
I have flown on 727, B737 B737NG, B757, B767, B777, B747, DC10, MD11, DC9, MD80, L1011, D7, D8, CRJ, Emb145, EMB170, A320, A319, A321, A300, A330, A340, SF340, ATR42, ATR72, F100, F27, Bae146, SD360, BaC1-11. My favourite - MD11 followed by SD360 and A330. My goal - A310 before they disappear.
My goal is DC-9 before they disappear. My goal of flying on a 747 will be achieved since i work for EIA now. After that it would be a 3 holer, DC-10/MD-11, DC-8, and 777.
