So are there any freeware old versions of it anywhere that is legal? I love gimp but am looking for some of the features of photoshop.

Legally free photoshop sounds unlikely. Photoshop elements really has all the features needed for the kind of editing that I do for aviation. It's price should not be too unbearable.
I have to agree with Dan. I used Elements (and an early version, 2.0, maybe) for a couple of years before I moved to the full version, and wasn't especially limited on any editing techniques for most aviation-related photos.Originally Posted by SmAlbany
