    Monarch 757-200 JFK Pics

    Greetings,
Went to JFK to shoot the Monarch 757-200 n/c.
This is a annual arrival of two Eurocharters from Europe on this day every year. With each passing year its always something different.

Yea we watched it go by without cameras for obvious reasons. Thanks again for letting us know it was coming in Senga.

So Senga should tell everyone what's inbound because they can't take 2 mins to check the trackers? Come on Nick, that's pretty silly and lazy. This was on the trackers yesterday

Bill it’s called common courtesy and Nick has a point. If you're sitting at home and notice something others might want to catch it takes all of one minute to make a post. Most here do it, I have, Eric has, Nick has, Phil has...lots of people have. Even if you're on the road already you can easily text someone and say "hey such and such is coming in, can you post it?"

Great point Tom! me and Nick was talking about this at White Castle. It would be extremely nice for all of us to keep up to date and time. At least for a few of us could go after what ever good is coming. We dont have to be in the same excact spot to catch that plane or whatever, I feel that its best to share what is coming in so that we can know and maybe some of us could come out to catch it, thats the way I see it. When I go spotting I dont ususally use ACARS but if anyone is with me, I will send note to who ever comes out that theres something good coming or text anyone.

So your telling me that all the people here have the time and access to things you guys have to find these things out? If we did we wouldn't need a heads up but real life is a bit different and many if not all are not as hard core a Senga and or you, me or anyone but...I tell you when I get knowledge of something coming to a certain airport I give people I know in that area a heads up. Like Tommy said it's common courtesy. I find it funny how Senga always seems to have the time to post his pics. Well it would take less time to simply post a thread giving the rest of the locals a heads up so maybe they can go get it. You ever think that Senga isn't the only person who likes to collect rare airframe pictures? I also would like to say Kenny was nice enough to call Sergio and give us a heads up that is was inbound and he wasn't even able to get out to get it. Tells you something doesn't it? I am most confident that I am not alone when I say it's a little frustrating to see rare bird after rare bird posted here in pics yet a thread saying it's coming to JFK , EWR or LGA is not. I am not saying Senga has to be the official flighttracker for the area of he even has to shoot with people who may be out to get it as well. Just a nice heads up once in a while would be nice. Isn't that a big part of this forum?

Bill, I hate to say it but Nick does have a bit of a point.
Take me for instance. I really don't even know how to use trackers. It would be cool if we all gave each other a heads up for things like this.

However, I think Nick's point comes across perhaps a bit harsh and I dont think its AIMED at Senga persay.

Nick is making a general point that it would be cool if we'd give each other the heads up BEFORE and not after.

I know I appreciated hearing it somewhere here several months ago that the AA dc3 was inbound. I never really changed my plans to go shooting that day but it was nice to have it in the back of my mind and catch it.

And like Nick said, its part of what makes this forum a great. We are a group of local spotters looking out for each other.

Gosh, did I just sound like the Beav's mom?
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

    Re: Monarch 757-200 JFK Pics

Ok, since my name was brought up, I might as well chime in. Firstly, don't think for a minute that Senga has kept "good catch" information to himself. Really, if not for him, I'd never have gotten my shot of 88ZL. If not for him, I'd have never gotten off the ground decoding acars messages myself. The thing (at least to me) is this, yes, someone has the time and knowledge to track sick ****. But why pass things along to a group of people who in recent months will take their shots and still bite you in the ass for stupid ****, and not for nothing, one quick look on flightaware before you left the house would have shown what you were getting today anyway. It took me all of 2 minutes to see the ZB B752 was inbound. Surely anyone with time enough to make a cup of coffee could have done the same investigative work. On top of that, spotting, at least to me, is all about the hunt. Yes it's badass when you know something sweet is inbound or outbound, but it's even more badass when something surprises you completely. Secondly, I will not sit idly by while someone decides to have a field day with someone whom I consider a friend. If some of you would even take the time, you'd find someone who may not enjoy large public groups but someone who will chew your ear off on the phone for hours about aviation and photography and you might learn a thing or two from him. Christ, if half of you guys would quit with the stupid pissing matches, spotting would be way more enjoyable to alot of folks and this site would be a **** ton more enjoyable to alot of folks too.

    It ain't that serious guys.

    Re: Monarch 757-200 JFK Pics

I'm fairly new here and to spotting, and to be totally honest I don't know half the stuff that most people on here know. I met Sergio sunday and when he was walking with me he was telling me what planes were coming in and to be honest I had no idea of some of the planes he was referring to ( after seeing his pictures though I did learn which ones he meant) For me I love taking pictures of planes so if I sit somewhere and something cool comes by its great.. if not then oh well i still had fun taking pictures. One moment i wont ever forget is when Airforce one came in.. I had no idea she was coming in at that time and then there she was. I was like a little kid at Christmas... Most times I go to woodmere and just sit there during lunch and see what comes in and most times it seems to be just Jetblue flying in.. but I still have a good time going there. I'm still trying to learn all the spots for JFK (and for the life of me I can't figure out where exactly the mounds are! )

I just really enjoy coming here and learning more about spotting and the planes that come into here. If i find out that a plane is coming in and I can get to a spot to see it then great... if not then at least i know I can come on here to see the great shots everyone else got..

Kenny it sure sounds like your bringing a war you have had with members here into this discussion. Something that doesn't need to be. I would suggest if you still harbor resentment toward them that you deal with it privately. I have known Senga for some time and do realize he likes to keep to himself and I respect that. Yet you still fail to see that not everyone can always bang away at ACARS or Flightaware all the time to see what is inbound. Or has knowledge of charters etc too look out for. I am simply saying that a few words posted with the date and time of the arrival is a nice thing for the rest of the people in the area. I know Senga and are well aware of the things you described and I am by no means trying to have a field day with anyone. Many have taken the time Kenny. It is not a question of that, it's just a nice thing to make sure your fellow spotters know of a rare catch headed our way. Again you seem to have a lot of apathy for some members here and that is fine. Just don't imply I am starting a war with a friend of yours for reasons of trivial pissing matchesd. Again you need to deal with those members and issues outside of here.

First off, I want to congradulate Senga on a wicked cool catch. Notice the small emergency exit door behind the wing which is not common on the 752. Second off now. I think that Nick is at least in part right however maybe a bit blunt in his explination of his opinion. That is Nick though as I have discovered. Nick is still a cool dude though, just blunt. This site is however becoming a bit of a **** fighting pen in private and in public which is not its intent. Many of us are guilty of it, most of us partake it in. Facts are facts. Some of us dont like each other, some of us do. Fact remains though that this site is dedicated to a common passion which lives stronger in some of us than others. Lets try to keep it to that and support each other in it. This sites intented purpose at least in part is for keeping everyone on the same page. Lets try to keep it peaceful and enjoy the reason why most of us are here in the first place instead of ribbing each other constantly. If you do not like a person, keep it to yourself and deal with it because this is a group and no one is forced to be here. Your here because you want to and it delivers a benefit to you in some form. So instead of getting heated and clawing each other like a bunch of middle school mary's lets try just enjoying the site for its intended purpose.

Isn't part of the site to let other spotters know when something they may want to see is coming?

Yeah? Well you still park like ****! LOL
When my car was new I did that but at least I went to the most remote part of the lot to do it. Involves a lot of walking.

I'm not bringing any type of war Nick. Not with you, and not with anyone else. I'm just calling a spade, a spade. I'm cool with alot of people here. I've found many friends here. And yes, there are a few who I don't get on well with but that's life. My issue is as I stated above man. It doesn't take much digging most times to find out for one's self what exactly is coming in. I look while watching Islanders highlights (or really lowlights lol), you can look whilst watching Tiger sink a putt. Someone else can look whilst the Jets eat another bag of ****. There's more than enough backbiting bull**** drama on this site to go around.
