    Yankees jets

So I was thinking back on the topic of sports liveries and I remember at one time the Yankees had a few diffrent planes either chartered/leased or owned in the fleet. I know there was a 737-200 briefly in Yankees colors which is on Airliners.net and I know of their Beechjet 400 because I have seen it at then Raytheon TPA. I vaugely remember an article in the 90's in Airliners magizine though which pictured a 727-200 as well as a 737-200 in Yankees colors. I was wondering if anyone either had photographs, knows where they can be obtained or has any furthur information on the topic and planes in question. Thanks.

Yes! Thats the 737-200. Now I got to find that 727. I know it existed. The Yankees ball logo was on the tail that detail I do recall.

There was a REALLY good article, a few years ago, either in Business and Commercial Aviation which directly noted exactly what the Yankees flew. I know I posted about it too. Dont know the issue but it was a great read.
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

That 737 was used in the mid to late 90's by the Yankees. That time period saw alot of sports jets. American West's fleet was sported out, The Charlotte Hornets had a 732 I recall and than a 722. The heat had a 727-200 as well as a 737-200 and the Baltimore Oreioles had a 737-200 at one point. I know I am missing a bunch but that was like a heyday. Right now the Orlando Magic have a 737-300 which is registered to Magic Carpet Aviation as well which I have worked on once down in Florida.

I think they fly Delta now.

The Miami Heat 732 was in regular line service with Carnival during the off-season. I flew it FLL-EWR in April of 1994, or so.

Actually Delta is the official airline as of this season, but that doesn't necessarily mean they fly them. CO is the official airline of the Giants, but they actually fly United.

Ahh, here's where I found it...yes, the Yanks fly Delta. dal-9817-at-lga-today-9-17-t16997.html
