    Location Request for Photoshoot

I'm in the process of trying to locate some abandon buildings or areas on Long Island, Queens, Brooklyn for a photo shoot.

    Anybody have any ideas?

Hopefully its a place I can access with relative ease as I will have a model and some lighting equipment with me.

    thanks...

not many abandoned buildings left in my neck of the woods, but a lot of williamsburg has yet to be developed and is still an industrial neighborhood. it's not uncommon to see photo shots taking place on the sidewalks. does your shoot have to be indoors? dromp me a pm if you're curious.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

does not have to be indoors, but I prefer it to be out of public view.

Good call Mario, unfortunately 5 Pointz is out of business as of a few weeks ago... a woman was severely injured after a stairway collapsed and the Buildings Department demanded a bunch of structural improvements that the owners cannot afford, and they were forced to vacate.

There are a number of abandoned houses and bunkers on the grounds of Fort Tilden in the Rockaways...

The houses below are easily accessible. Here are some shots from Labor Day...

This was a massive gun battery. These aren't my pics, I didn't make it there on my trip, but some Googling should point you in the right direction

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Ouch. just read it here: http://gothamist.com/2009/04/11/woman_i ... stairw.php

I took pics of those stairs back in January. They looked totally unstable. And took a friend there just last month. Wow, I must have just gotten in before they closed it down.

I saw the stairs and the rubble.

Too bad, it was a venue we have just discovered. it boggles the mind though how they are able to REACH up so high to paint.

Eric, you many also consider some of the abandoned LIRR stations.

I think they are open again - according to the article, the woman was injured in April, and when you go to their web site, it says "5Ptz is Open! We're back from a rough time..."
