    NYC Skyline Shots

The previous apartment that Mel and I lived in had a great view of the NYC skyline. Without moving my head off the pillow, I could open my eyes in the morning and have the Empire State Building right in my face.

I wish I got to do more shooting of it, but I guess I just never got around to it (what with flying all the time and all). Varying light, weather and seasons made for some gorgeous scenes, and I just didn't capitalize. There was a tree that started growing as well, slowly obstructing my view, but here are some shot I came away with.

nice work. when i was in high school i could look out the dining room wndow right at the UN and see the entire building glowing gold from the rising sun. since then we also had a tree grow so tall it blocks the entire skyline. i can actually still see traffic on the 59th st bridge though.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

I'll add a few to the pile...

Early Oct, 2000 from the overlook at Weehawken, NJ... Breezy night that even
the tripod couldn't compensate for. (scan from slide)

Christmas 2002, same location... (scan from original pictures)

April '06, from West NY... (Taken with my first digital camera, 3mp Cannon S1is)

Times Square, Jan 2d of this year- just for the heck of it. Shot this one on they fly
while in the middle of a crosswalk. (Cannon S3is, 6mp)

Thanks, guys! Hoping to get some better day and night stuff when I'm back in town in a few weeks...

Phil, your first and last shots are most sweet! Aces, bud!
