    Coke Zero 400 - Daytona

Went to this awesome event. Just a few pictures for now (unfortunately, there was a huge fence betwene us and the action)

    Q&A with Tony Stewart

    Q&A with Dale Earnhardt Jr

    Flypast

    Single jet coming into KDAB

And the final - this was a very special event - 25 years ago, Richard Petty won his 200th race - at Daytona, 4th July. My son can say he is one of the few of his generation to actually see Richard Petty in his own race car - driving it - that was a VERY special event!

    More to come later....

Great shots, Mark! I bet your little guy was excited to get so close to Junior! And I'm old enough to remember watching Richard Petty drive that car in person.

He was in "hero worshop" heaven - stared for a few minutes and then just went nuts! It was a really special moment to see "The King" driving that car - he did two laps of the warm up and then pulled into the pits. They were joking at the track because people wanted him to pull through the pits and then go out again! A couple more shots....real pity we had a huge cable right in front of us....

The F-15 departures from KDAB were right over the main stand - very late afternoon though

Tony Stewart leaving pit road on the warmup lap

My attempt at a shot to show the speed..

Now were thinking of Homestead for the end of the year race - the bug has bitten!

interesting, the shot of the F-15 doing a belly pass shows they're carrying an AIM-9X. thought jets involved in these kind of flyovers were supposed to be unarmed.

very nice shots mark, the formation of 4 F-15s always moves me. last time i saw them they were doing a missing man formation on a cold january morning.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
