    EWR early a.m. 3/17

Bit the bullet finally and went to check out EWR's 'economy' parking at the threshold of 22L. Great results, but rather pricey for a short stay.

These are taken with my Panasonic FZ-7. I lost my CF card for the Rebel, so my backup camera had to be in action. :)

This is my buddy Ryan, who went with me. We go flying together every so often, when weather and schedules align. :)

Over at economy, a CO 764 pulls out.

This was worth the money. :)

    Here's a bonus vid, a UPS DC-8 landing on 4R.

    p.s. Didn't get hassled once.

The beehive hummm of the JT9D and GE CF680C2,the thunder of the JT8D-17,the rumble of the PW1830 and the high ,thin whine of the PW 545A are all music to my ears!

Mike, it's the economy lot at the threshold to 22L. I backed my truck right up to the fence, sat there with my buddy and stuck my camera through the gap in the chain link. Several airport vehicles passed by on the airport road, but most either didn't see us or just gave us a friendly smile and nod. Didn't get hassled once. I forget the cost exactly, but it was around $17 for two hours. Pretty steep, but I think the rates are lower after a certain number of hours. So I'd stay until 11 or 12 to make the most of the cost worthwhile, or until the light becomes unshootable. We were at that lot from 7:30 til about 9.
