Spent a few hours at Brookhaven airport Saturday afternoon at the "Grand Old Airshow". As previously discussed, the event was shortened to one day, and was not scheduled to include any flying demonstrations. The event was dedicated to the memory of Vinny Nasta, the local pilot who was lost in a crash at Rhinebeck in August. Nasta was a regular at Brookhaven, and had recently begun flying with Warbirds Over Long Island.

Have an extra $375K sitting around? If so, this 1961 Morane Saulnier jet can be yours. It seats 4, pressurized, and is FAA certified for normal operations.
Of course I should have known these guys weren't going to just sit around all day without a little aviating. I left my big lens in the car, but we were close enough to the runway to get some decent shots.
They held a short ceremony to dedicate a memorial to Nasta. Here's Bob Baranaskas unveiling the memorial.
