    SEA/BFI/PAE Spotting Pics 8/15 8/16

After spending two days in Vancouver my father and I drove down to Seattle for a 3 day weekend to take a tour of the Boeing plant at Everett, spot at Boeing Field, and spot at Sea-Tac. The Boeing tour was great, a little better then the Airbus tour I took. The highlight was definitely seeing the 787. It made the aircraft so much closer to reality in my mind, it looks great! Unfortunately the only movement at PAE that day was a bare metal 777-300ER destined for Qatar. There was some decent stuff parked out on the flight line including 3 TAM 777-300ER, 2 Emirates 777-300ER and 1 777-200LR, 2 Qatar 777-300ER, ANA 767-300, JAL 777-300ER, Asiana 777-200, and at one point the Dreamlifter. In the hangar I saw a 747-400F for UPS, a 777-200LR and -300ER for Emirates, a -300ER for Air Canada and Cathay Pacific and N787BA along with the first for Northwest and ANA.

After waiting around for a while in the heat at Everett we drove down to Boeing Field were I saw the 777-200LRF along with the Air France Cargo -200LRF and a bunch of 737s. There wasn't much activity but I got a UPS 767-300 departure and a Lion Air 737-900ER departure but dark had already set in. I was planning on spending more time at Boeing Field but they closed the main runway for Saturday and today as well. Spotting at Sea-Tac was decent and I spent a good portion of the time in the parking lot of a golf course with a view of arrivals and departures. The Hainan A330-200 was my main goal and I was very happy with the result.

If you'd guys like some pictures of the flight line let me know and I'll post them.

    PAE + BFI 8/15

SEA 8/16 (I chose the stuff that we don't get in New York, there was lots of domestic movement!)

That has Getty $$$ written all over it.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

I'm really liking that Hainan shot, and the light on the UPS departure is perfect.

Very nice selection. Salomon 30 Salomon got away from me in Oakland two months ago. I want it!

Nice shots and variety as always Gordon. Back when I was single and travelled frequently to photograph airliners the Seattle area was always a favorite usally hitting SEA/BFI/PAE and sometimes RNT. Allthough in recent years some weekend flying has started, most Boeing Test Flights and almost all delivery flights are done on weekdays, making the weekend the least desirable time to shoot at PAE or BFI, just a tip for anyone planning a future trip their.
