Nice ISP Overview Shot

Just found this is on JP, really nice overview of ISP and the surrounding area.

I believe the photographer is a pilot for Turkish and was shot from their flightdeck inbound to JFK.

Nice shot.

You caa actually look to the far right, middle of the screen and can see the rail yard just behind Ronkonkoma RR station. Gives one a sense of how close the airport is to the LIRR.

(now if only we could walk across the runway to the terminal.

Neat. I've seen that angle a couple times on approach to JFK but it's always been too hazy for a shot.

You are right about the pilot Ron - he is with Turkish - he has a lot of shots from all over the world - some nice shots in South Africa as well!! :)

You can really see in the shot what a mix mosh the terminal is. Its really four buildings all connected to each other, also notice the tarmac, its all torn up as they finally started redoing it. ISP is a decent little airport but the town could have done a much better job at its update.

At the time politics ran the operation not the needs for the airport.
