Decided to kill some time this evening by heading over to ABE. I'm glad I got the delayed Allegiant, but it's way backlit.

Nice pictures James. Just curious where you were spotting from at ABE. I went to Lehigh U. a few years ago and always wanted to spot there, but never had any good photo equipment...

kc2aqg, the first shot was from Schoenersville Cemetary. I didn't want to spend too much time there because it's pretty residential and there's "no loitering" signs all around. The other ones are from the cemetary at the end of runway 6. It's up off Lehigh St., then off Circle Dr. There's a fence around the whole perimeter, but if you bring a ladder it's not so bad. For the UA Express shot, I just focused past the fence. The last 727 shot was from a corporate building next to the cargo center.

In my about year and a half spotting at ABE, I've never been hassled once, so it's worth it to take the time to come out and getting something rare and doing a bit of GA spotting.

Sad as I am to see the 727's go from FedEx, I really can't wait to see some 757's come in, if they even will service ABE.
