    Parade of Ships Photos

Got to my spot at 55th and the river at 9:30. And waited. And waited. I remember waiting last year but not this long. No ships, no planes, nada. Until 11:30! F/A-18s showed up at 11:39! And that's it. I waited til noon and left after seeing a couple of ships. Unless there was some kind of security problem whoever organized it this year needs to never have that job again.

    Scary Marine Corps boat.

    D-UCK on short final.

Ooooh! Superbugs from the Pukin' Dogs & Checkmates. That's it in the air from the USN, USCG & USMC? One word...P A T H E T I C! Someone really should be fired for the post on the Fleetweek website. Glad one of the kids had to stay home today and I couldn't make it. The S.E.A.L. boat was nice to see though.

That SEAL boat (assuming as MORS also did that it's a SEAL one) I believe is called a Mark II. It's a pretty serious delivery craft. There are four mounts for a guns ranging from an M-60 to a M-2. Great in shallow water and fast an maneuverable, even for its size.

Was that AB139 flying low checking out the boats? Your great picture shows a number of passengers looking out the window. I checked the N # and it is registered to Agusta in Philly. Maybe a sales flight? We now have two 139s in the area (AIG and Honeywell).

I think it had taken off from W 30th St Heliport, did a bit of a low pass over the docked ships, and continued ascending when it got to my spot at 55th St. Interestingly, that reg used to belong to an America West 732.
