IAD 5/19 Russin Open Skies TU154 and more

I decided to make a last minute trip to IAD yesterday. It was my first time there and found the BWI spotters group's page very useful for finding all of the spots. I also caught my first TU-154 while there, as the Russian Airforce Open Skies aircraft came in for a quick stop. Heat haze got the best of it but I was happy to see it. Also it was nice to meet you Rafal.

Edit: sorry for the small pics, I'll change them tommorow but I'm going to bed now

And last but not least there was 2 German AF C-160 Transall's were there

nice work bill. i still don't understand the Luftwaffe connection to IAD though it's nice to see those airplanes over here! love the 777s too.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

    Nice shots Bill,
Things always seem come in when I am far away where I should be.

    Very nice shots, Bill.

I love IAD, I 'll have to return one day when the weather is nice and they're using 1's!

Hello Bill, excellent shots overall. Which spot were you at when you took those departure shots of the Austrian 772 and the SAS 340? Later, Brian

Thanks guys, Brian they were from the Daily 2 Garage. Once 5pm hits its a pretty consistent amount of international departures.

Tom, thanks I was very happy with what I got down there. Made the 3 hours of sleep the night before worth it. Senga, yes I did do pretty well last week. I'm not complaining at all.
