    DTW 2.24.08 *56K NO*

Well, I had a great weekend this week spotting wise. I went spotting on both Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately I haven't had any editing time, and still have to edit a lot from last weekend. I decided to do a few from Sunday. I didn't get to go through all my shots to find the best ones, so I just choose a few. Gotta love that late afternoon Mac Deck light!

    Off-airport shots:

    Some McNamara deck shots:

Gotta love the light on this one:

Hope I don't see too many of these things soon:

Catch of the day, one of only 2 Fokker 70's in the United States (both owned by Ford) Ford Fokker F70:

late night gate shot (hand held):

    A330 departure into sun:

I'm sure there will be more later when I get to editing them, as well as some shots from Saturday!

I love the light on the afternoon departures! Nice silhouette shot of the A330 there.

    Thanks Gordon

Oh, forgot to mention, We went into the Smith terminal to eat and I hear over the PA "The checkpoints are now open, please make your way to them in an orderly fashion so we can get everyone re-screened as quickly as possible", apperently they evacuated due to a faulty x-ray that they didn't notice for 10 minutes so they actually had to bring planes back to the gate and deplane everyone to re-screen. That was interesting, and after that, around 5:15, we saw the fire brigade line up next to runway 21L at their various spots and in comes a CRJ with no flaps, he comes in hot, nice landing, slams the breaks, fire brigade follows down the runway etc.

Here are some emergency shots, the fire brigade wasn't in a tight formation, there were about 5 fire trucks, 3 ambulances, and 3 fire pick up trucks and a police car:

which one? The one at the gate? The one at the gate wasn't, that was almost completely dark. High shutter speed, High ISO, low app. and lots of photoshop haha
