JFK - 2/14/08 (Pix and more pix)

Since I didn't have a sweetie to spend Valentine's Day with, I thought I'd spend a little quality time with the old 30D. I had hoped to catch Jet Airways, but I got tied up on the way to Firestone, and must have missed her by about 15 minutes. Overall, not a bad day - nice sky, not too cold, and some interesting subjects.

    Catch them while you can!

Phil's boys were out in full force:

    N765NA

    N756NA

    N752NA

Nice to catch Tradewinds, but a little disappointing too - she was operating under a CargoItalia callsign (Pelican 8702) and I was hoping to catch one of their DC-10s.

The famous "Firestone Bank Shot" - the result of a fairly aggressive S-turn on final.

    The catch of the day!

Last shot of the day...when I heard Qantas 107 check it, I was hoping for that big red bird, but got a plain Jane instead.

Great shots, Moose. I hoped to get out to ABE for a while today with the good light, but got tied up with school stuff.

Great light and shots, Moose. Nice catch with D-AERS.

Luke, he didn't catch Asia World City because it departed at 9am this morning.

Beautiful shots as usual, moose. Oddly enough just last night as I was going through some old shots I never got a chance to edit, I happened to touch up a photo of D-AERS from September.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Some days are like that. Last time I was out (Feb. 2), I caught two or three North American 757s and one 767.

Nice shots. Moose, on a separate note, did you see the KL MD-11 coming while you were out there? Reason I ask is it seems KL liberally switches between MD-11 and 744 recently.

And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.
