WX permitting I may head out for some spotting. Anyone else planning to do some shooting?

Sure, I think I might go out around 2.
For those who may be out tomorrow, please let me know if you photograph the 12:30pm Virgin Atlantic A340-600 arrival. As my mate, anet photographer Justin Wood, (and houseguest for the next week) will be sitting in 8A on the flight. I'm certain he'd appreciate a photo of his aircraft! :D

The forecast isn't great for Saturday, but I may be out some in the afternoon, depends on the WX and what I've got going on. If anyone is out, and catches the 2pm(ish) Cathay 777 departure, please let me know - that's my new friend & spotting buddy Colin heading home.

I ended up going out for a little bit this afternoon. I know, I know, I guess I didn't get my fill of spotting in the cold on Friday :) Actually, with 31L/R active, I thought I'd try to get a shot of Colin heading home. Started at HoBe (stayed in the car and didn't shoot much of anything until the Cathay 777 departed - didn't want to attract any undue attention today)
I'll have to find out if Colin was flying this leg:
After that, I headed over to Firestone and met up with Kenny, Andy and Mat for a little while. Almost missed this one - Andy said "Hey, is that a logo on that jetBlue?"
Kenny decided to head home - something about his dog missing him. He wasn't out of the parking lot when this came by - first time I've caught it:

nice shots!
today was an intresting day, mostly cloudy and overcast, but, it did provide for some cool shots, with dark clouds in the background, and the plane, rather well lit.
I finally caught PIA 777-300, which i have been trying to do for about a year, but it keept sliping away somehow. (collision, going to L, political crisis...) Also got the tradewinds-Atlas 742, which was cool; and, United 757OC, and Continental 737-500W. Overall, I'm happy with the outcome, and hope you enjoy my photos:
didnt come out so good :(
just planing to leave, i saw some lights over the horizon.

Great stuff Moose! I saw that Tradewinds fly over and I was cursing all the way home. Josh, the Virgin 346 went to 31L and was unshootable. Here's a few prelim edits:
Probably one of two B6 planes I'm willing to shoot.
All in all a great day with excellent company. Mat, I hope you've warmed up by now lol. Andy, we have to do this again real soon.

wow that TNT cargo bird is very rare to get...to bad the wx wasn't better.
I am jealous of the TNT. :(
Email me anytime at [email protected].
Nice to see that an old United 757 come to JFK as well as Continental 757-500 with winglets in which ive never see a 500 with winglets. And sometimes TNT will fly in as Iclandair Cargo with the 757. I havent caught it yet but great catches to all

Great shots everybody! I'm jealous of that TNT Kenny, but you missed Tradewinds Cargo so I guess we're about even :D
The day started out with little variety, overcast skies, and crummy light...
But then got much better with light and heavies...
I love this color scheme...
Always love to see the 747 classics...
My first ex-TWA 757, though less than ideal light...
My best shot (and not the greatest) of jetBlue Crackberry, which surprised us all...
This tail eluded me last time...
Sorry Kenny...
This one was a surprise, as I thought they only came in the morning...
But this one is my catch of the day, the Conti 737-500 with winglets. I've been really anxious to see what one of these looks like...
All in all, this was one of the most challenging shooting and editing experiences I've had as far as lighting and backdrops go, but it was a great time with awesome people. Can't wait to do it again, even in the cold winter!
Lucky TNT catch!
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

Lucky indeed. I didn't realize what it was until it was upon me. Just a shame wx wasn't better. Great stuff guys. This was my first time out since October when I was out with Andy and Adam. Cold weather aside, it was a blast.
