    What was CO flying EWR-MAD / CDG-EWR in 1997?

This might be something of a long shot, but if there's anyone I know who might know it would be you guys.

Back in 1997, I flew my first (and only) transatlantic flights, on Continental, from Newark to Madrid and then from Paris (CDG) to Newark. Even though on before boarding on the return leg I was able to see the plane sitting at the gate, I can't for the life of me remember what type of plane it was.

So, my question is, what type(s) of plane would Continental have been flying on these routes back in 1997? 767s? 777s?

EDIT: Forgot to mention, these would have been summer flights, in July.

    Definitely DC-10.

[airlinerstp://www.airliners.net/open.file/1215464/L/[/airlinersEWR-MAD was flown by the DC-10 until 2001 when the 777-200 took over. With the introduction of BCN and a second daily summer flight to MAD on the 757-200 the route was downgraded to the 767-400 last year.
