Qatar Adds Frequency to EWR and Upgrades Aircraft

Starting on April 3rd, Qatar Airways will be flying 6xweekly flights to EWR. The route runs DOH-GVA-EWR with Airbus A330-200 aircraft however once a week the Airbus A330-300 will operate the flight.

Hopefully we will start to see some variety from the normal A7-ACA, ACB, ACC, ACE, and ACF!

I wasn't following Qatar's EWR service closely. I thought it was already operating Doha-Geneva-EWR. But doesn't look like it's doing that right now, and will resume in April. When did it suspend the service?

As far as I am aware service has not been discontinued. QR83/84 operated recently as yesterday.

    Great News!! :D
Really hope to see "Asian Games Orange", or one of the NC's. Do you know what day will be the -300?

They use specially configured a330-200's currently and the special schemes are all -300's

Qatar did paint a couple of their -200 fleet in a special blue scheme to promote the Doha Asia Games however there are more -300s painted in the red and orange scheme.

[airlinerstp://www.airliners.net/open.file/1314980/L/[/airlinersWith the -300 coming to EWR I have a feeling we will start to finally see the new colors. Not sure how much longer the Doha colors will be around for since the games already took place.

[airlinerstp://www.airliners.net/open.file/1310476/L/[/airlinersBill, do you know what special configuration the aircraft that serve EWR are in? I believe those are among the first A330-200s to join the fleet and still have the older interior rather then the new award winning interior.

Update: the -300 will be on a Sunday, landing at 18:55 (around 7PM). On April 6th, the sun will set around 7:20, so, it should be a nice day to catch it. Qatar has 10 A330-300 aircraft. As of now, 3 are Old colors, 3- Asian Games Orange colors, 1- Asian games Red, 3 NC.

Thanks for that information, Matt. Sunday is a good day to catch the A330-300 and hopefully they will cycle aircraft on the route which should give us a good chance at getting an Asian game scheme and the new colors.
