Xmas Eve Moon

Leaving my house this morning at 6:30 for work and just about to get into my car and what do i see on this clear nice
morning but a beautiful and bright full moon shining to the West (with a star to its left, anyone know what?).
Even better was when the LIRR train turned the corner after Woodside and this full moon was now hanging over
Manhattan even as the rising sun was shining off the glass skyscrapers!! And my ipod was blasting Trans-Siberian
Orchestra!! It was a very cool moment!!
And tonite coming home on Woodbury Road at 5:35 and here comes the moon again looking larger than ever and some
wispy clouds floating past it and JFK R22s coming in!! Very nice!!
Looks like tonite will be excellent evening for Santa Spotting here in the NY area!! :D

Yeah, last night I was outside around 11 and it was so bright. We had some really bad rain here but it got pushed out in about a half hour followed by heavy winds and clear skies.

I think the star you saw is the Mars. There was something on the news about mars being extra bright tonight.
