LAS 12/16/07 Whitebird has left the building.

Well I decided to do my first all day shoot at LAS since getting out here and I met up with the King Of LAS Dave Budd. Rumors were flying that Jason Whitebird got his transfer wish from WN and now is at OAK. Not that he told any of the LAS guys he was leaving but hey no Jason no clouds! . At sunrise the sun was golden and I finally got a clean shot of Cal One. Then Dave arrived and a slide shooter named Mark Clark who has just moved to LAS along with regulars Brandon Perez and Shane Stroeffegen. Most of the morning was boring WN stuff. We were hoping the Spirit arrival was new colors but it wasn't. I got the BMI and Condor and Korean 777. The Maxjet was the normal blue after we were praying white but then I heard something weird check in. Sounded like Mexicana but that was in already and I yelled to Dave who got really excited looking at it with his field glasses. We then were rewarded for our patience and lack of Whitebird clouds that he always brings. He will be missed but this truly was the highlight of the day, here is quicko edito.

Thanks gents. Jason will be missed. Who else will shoot all those bizzers? I know Dave has them all already.

Ok Mark here is a couple more. SCY hybrid with different color winglets was a nice treat and my shot of Cal 1.

Very nice catch on the Aladia, Nick.

Looks like they have added paint to the winglets of PH-BZG since I saw her two weekends ago.

I look forward to seeing your BMI, Condor, and Korean shots!

    Love 'em. :)

I'll be in Chicago next week for 4 days and my main goal is to catch BMI. I'll be so upset if it's the Star Alliance scheme!

that korean looks a bit bleached bro...
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

I know the captures I got are not great, going to bin them and wait a for the days to get a little longer, I think after the 21st the days begin to have more light. This way the sun gets a little further west and I can get a head on shot of her touching down 25L. That fuselage is a bitch.

    Nick,

But I bet that you didn't get yesterday Pace 767-200 on departure from runway 19 :) I'm just kidding, so if you got it from the observation area post your shot I will post mine tomorrow taken from Las Vegas Blvd.

I almost pissed my pants when I saw Aladia 757 landing on 25L.
I was there Sat & Sun 7am to 5pm catching arrivals at 7/11 parking lot.

Yea we all saw her sitting there all day and then depart to the south. There was a DC3 sitting over there too that left today. I hope somebody got her.

I've got only half of that DC-3. She was parked behind Signature hangar right beside two F-18s and F-5.
