    JFK review 12/1/07

Today I headed out to Howard Beach for some 31L departures. It was very cold and windy when i got there. They were using 4s and 31L KK runway configuration. Gordon Jr. and his Dad were at Bayswater. When they switched to the 31s, we met up, stayed a little while then headed to Firestone. It was cold but worth it.

    Some 31L bankies:

    China Airlines Cargo 747-400

    JAL 747-400

    EVA MD-11

Sun Country 737-800 in old Transavia colors

Finnaly I caught Delta 757-200 NC with winglets

    World Airways MD-11

    LAN 767-300

US Airways A319 in Battle Horn livery

Eithad A340-500 with a bank that was not impressive to Gordon

After Eithad had taken off, Gordon's dad drove us to Firestone to catch some 31R arrivals.
    Jet Airways 777-300

    Virgin A340-600

    Cathay A340-600
Aspires to become an Air Traffic Controller at Kennedy Tower.

Man, I thought I was the only one who was nuts enough to go out in this weather! I didn't get an early enough start to go to JFK, but I got some pics at Worlds Fair Marina...I'll post after I've had some time to edit.

My parents and I are spending the weekend at my sisters house to babysit my nephews while my sister and brother in law are in Mexico. Since my sister lives in White Plains my father and I thought we'd take advantage of the proximity to JFK to try and shoot some of the early morning departures and arrivals. We got to JFK around 7:30am and headed to HoBe where we caught a Cathay silver bullet and then saw they had switched to 4 so we high tailed it over to Bayswater. Unfortunately we missed the Virgin, British, and another Cathay Cargo departure but we spent the latter half of the morning shooting 4 departures and arrivals until they switched back to 31.

Highlights of the day were watching the Nevada One scheme and the Sun Country hybrid as well as finally catching Jet!

Great shots, Gordon. Guess which one's my favorite? :-)

BTW, haven't seen too many shots of N3744F lately (the only new colors 73H). She seems to hang out at JFK pretty often. Seen her lately?

    Thanks, Chris. :)

According to the scheds she was was operating the morning flight to SEA, I must have missed her while I was on my way from HoBe to Bayswater, she was definitely an aircraft I wanted to catch this morning. Pink Delta was also at JFK this morning but departed on 31L along with the 777-200 and 3 other 75Ws.
