If you like general aviation, PDK gives an up-close-and-personal view of the entire airfield. PDK is buzzing with business jet traffic year-round and occasionally is forced to close one of their runways for ramp parking spaces. The airport has a spotting/viewing area set up - complete with a live ATC audio feed and playground for children. Definitely a class act management there and plenty of spotter "eye candy."
I personally LOVE shooting general aviation. Sometimes it's a good change from larger aircraft - more variety.
Here are a few of my shots from yesterday.
It would appear Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Intl. Airport isn't the only Atlanta area airport handling international traffic. This Swiss-based Dassault Falcon is seen here arriving at PDK.
Unfortunately I didn't catch this bird's registration. I love the look of a King Air - classy and stylish.
United Co.'s Gulfstream G-V arriving at PDK. Note the deployed thrust reversers in action.
This Raytheon 400A is owned by Wilkes and McHugh PA out of Tampa, FL.
This BAe-125-800A is owned by GW Enterprises LLC out of Norfolk, MA.
This Wachovia Financial Services LearJet 45 is based here at PDK. Note the Pilatus in the background doing engine run-up tests.
Gulf Hawk's BAe-125-800B departing Dekalb-Peachtree Airport in Atlanta, Georgia.
The highlight of the day at PDK, Colonial Bank's Challenger 600. Seen here reversing thrust following her arrival.
