    Football Player Murdered

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,313041,00.html

I don't know if this person was well-known or not, but articles about the deceased often say the same nice things about the person, making it difficult to judge if there may be more to the story.

Do any of you have opinions about this? Do you think it's simply a robbery gone wrong? Was he involved in something shady?

He's been in trouble with the law a few times in his life, and this is the second time this year his home has been broken into. But the police haven't come up with any connections between the robberies or his previous troubles. And I haven't heard anything about him being a bad teammate.

Sean Taylor, a Redskins safety had a pretty nasty reputation on the football field. In the Pro-Bowl last year he drilled the AFC punter into the turf late in the game (who hard hits a punter in the pro bowl!?). He also spat in another players' face (Pittman of the Buccaneers) in the playoffs last year. He also had a reputation for hard hits on the field. Off the football field, however, apparently he kept to himself. He didn't participate in the madatory NFL rookie symposium and there was an incident in Florida involving stolen ATV's in which he assaulted someone but I don't think he had too much of a criminal history.

It sounds like it was a robbery gone wrong. His off-the-field incidents were few and seemed to be unrelated. But who knows? It's a tragedy and it's a shame he died, but he wasn't exactly a model citizen on or off the field.

Raw Lewis anyone? Many of these football guys are thugs but in this case it could be anything. Unfortunately the only person who knows who shot him died this morning so. Plus police are careful what they let the public know but we may find out different as this goes along. What is funny is that 8 days prior to this there was another incident of an intruder who fired shots in the house. This whole thing is wierd.

Doesn't seem like the shooter was trying to kill him, since he was shot in the leg. But then again criminals aren't known for their marksmanship.
