    LGA Runway 4

I have traveled out to LGA on Sunday 2 weeks in a row hoping to see runway 4 arrivals. To my dissapointment it was not being used for landing.

Is their a way i can find out when Runway 4 is being used for arrivals?

    Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wind dictates what runways will be used... that and runway closures at times

Call LGA Atis before you go next time, 718-478-6118. Its a recorded message. Remember 4 is only good in the morning.

landing 4 is rare, second rarest config aside from landing 13. if the winds are light enough, or they favor using 22 and 13 then that's what we'll use only because it's the most efficient to get airplanes in and out. i think i can count on one hand the amount of times we've been landing 4 lately. using that runway for arrivals complicates things in terms of the departure sequencing so it's only really used if it has to be.

It's only good for photography in the morning, but it's fun to sit and watch any time it's in use. :)
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.

Something is wrong with the LGA Atis phone but we have been landing on 4 and departing 13 all day.

just landed on rwy 4 about 4 hours ago, you can read the license plates on the Grand Central on short final, way cool approach, grand tour of Manhattan on downwind, then Brooklyn ,and all those glittery East River bridges base to final, great fun !!!
The beehive hummm of the JT9D and GE CF680C2,the thunder of the JT8D-17,the rumble of the PW1830 and the high ,thin whine of the PW 545A are all music to my ears!
