United Nations VIP Week2007 summary. Text and Photos

    Greetings,
Below is the Summary for VIP week 2007 (62nd United Nations General Assembly)
In the seven years I have been out shooting the United Nations arrivals this year had the least amount of visitors. However I managed to pull off 13 new types throughout the 9 days I was out during the General Assembly. This year gave up a lot of BBJs and A319CJ. It’s too bad these planes are replacing older and much more desirable aircraft. The reward is not as satisfying but at least it’s something new. Two examples are the Nigerian 727-200 to 737-700 and Czech TU-154 to A319. The most significant shot for me this year was the Angola 707-300. This is definitely the shot of the year for me as well. It was nice seeing those who I met up with during my 2.5 weeks in NY. I look forward to meet up with the rest of you when I return. I’ll be back to New York from Florida during the first part of January.
    Note:
I used previous VIP week shots of aircraft from USAF C-17, French A310, Poland TU-154, Saudi Aramco 767-200, Saudi A310 Brazilian 737-200 and Guinea and South African and UAE BBJs Italian, British G-NMAK A319 and Air Force One as my previous shots of those were better.

Also spotted in the Area from other photogs:
    EWR Ethiopian 757, HZ-NSA, Polish Air Force TU-154, Saudi 777-200 N777AS
    SWF Polish AIr Force TU-154

    Great shots, Senga!

I really like your shots of the Presidential Helicopters!

Who came on the Aerolineas Argentinas and the MD-80?

    Senga - Just perfect.

The definitive list (for the 4th year in a row is it now?) and each year the images are even better than the year before.

I know how much hard work it is to do this. Always the highlight of the spotting year. Much appreciated!

Chris, I believe Greece uses the MD-80 and the president of Argentina came on the 747-200.

Some great shots as always Senga, it was a pleasure coordinating with you this year!

Here is my recap of a very successful UN Week 2007:

Thanks for the kind words guys.
I am glad I came up for the UNGA as it turned out be be a good one. Its hard to be out there like that but it pays off in the end when you see the line up.

I should also thank Gordon for his SWF updates.
Bill Striffler for his continuous alerts to me about speicific movments.
