    Roswell experience July 15/2007

    Hi All,

Took a drive to ROW to collect on stored 727s and L1011s. Here are the results:

Great shots and a great collection of aircraft. US West is still doing a lot of aircraft painting there. Looks NIKV69 needs to make another trip there, lots of different birds from his previous sorties to ROW.

is that malaysian a -300 or -400 combi? also, i'll take that C-130 if nobody else is interested... i haven't been to ROW, and the last time i was there it was only a quick stop for breakfast. how do you get on to the airport, do you just walk onto the grounds or did you get prior permission?
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

Great stuff Rafal, I wonder what the story is behind the Iwo Jima flag raising decal on that Arrow DC-8

    Thanks guys,

Yes, it was well worth to visit that airport. The only problem was the heat.

Those MD-11s are not going to the scrap house. They had UPS registrations and were in the progress to cargo conversion.

Wow. That was painful to look at. I didn't know Roswell had such amazing old stuff. Nice work! BTW, you're banned due to jealousy. ;)

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Great variety of aircraft you got there, Rafal!

Shame to see that Santa Barbara DC-10 on the chop blocks, I saw her numerous times around Barajas.

Amazing pictures. Do you have the N numbers on those MD-11's? I would like to see if one of them is old N802DE that burned up at KATL by Delta maintenance. Thanks.

What a dandy set of birds there. I LOVE the LAB bird. One of my favorite planes right now is the LAB 727.
